Actors of Gori Giorgi Eristavi Professional State Drama Theater presents short forms from various theatre pieces of Sławomir Mrożek (online). After the presentations – open live chat with actors.

Another step of Mrożek Experience is online performance “At Sea” – based on drama by Slawomir Mrozek (online)

“Sławomir Mrożek’s text ‘House on the Border’ has inspired us in 2018 to travel around the villages, north of Gori, meet people living on the edge of occupation zone – often with the barbed wire across their fields and gardens. We had
opportunity to become a witness of tiny part of their life.
We were thrilled by the fact how actual is this text facing tragic absurd of situations of people living by the, so called, Border and stories of people who were forced to resettle after the conflict.
Those travel made by Polish team of artists and our Georgian friends, fantastic group of young people and local artists, inspired us to create an outdoor performance at Theatre Eristavi inner court.

Theatre Eristavi already staged daring and still very actual performance: “At Sea” by Slawomir Mrozek.
Last month  – October 2020  – Theatre Eristavi were intended to premiere another play of Mrozek: “Streap-tease”
He had planned to show it on the Art Without Border Festival, but because of pandemic it is impossible.
Anyway, we have decided to share with public a Georgian experience of Sławomir Mrożek work – we invented together to invite public all over Georgia to join our improvised performance of the best Mrożek situations and dialogues.” – said the actors.

After the presentation actors and artistic director of Theatre Eristavi joined in to discussion and share their impressions from their experiences with Mrożek plays.

After the reading  will be also available online presentations of the performance: “At Sea” by Slawomir Mrożek.
