HOUSE/BORDER

The Art Junction Foundation, together with Polish and Georgian artists, carried out an outdoor performance called “Dom / Granica” in 2018.
The group dealt with the human tragedies resulting from the Georgian-Ossetian conflict and the territorial and political situation imposed on them from the outside. The several-month-long project started with meetings and talks with the inhabitants of the Shida Kartli region, which is still struggling with the effects of the armed conflict. In order to better understand the consequences of the war and the people living there, Polish artists temporarily settled in the village of Mereti. They worked in locations in the South Ossetian conflict buffer zone.
The scenario of activities was based on meetings with people living in the areas directly affected by the conflict in South Ossetia. Sławomir Mrożek’s drama “House on the Border” was an inspiration for work and talks with the inhabitants of the areas near the present border. Present in the age of the pandemic, we will show a new version of the play HOUSE / BORDER.
